Law360, New York (March 31, 2010, 5:53 PM ET) -- Pfizer Inc. has shot off a patent infringement suit against generic-drug maker Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., seeking to stop the sale of a copycat version of blockbuster erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.
The complaint, filed March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, alleges that Teva's plans to market and sell a generic version of the erectile dysfunction drug constitutes infringement of U.S. Patent Number 6,469,012, issued in 2002.
