Amerigon Car Seat Patent Suit Gets The Boot

Law360, New York (April 09, 2010, 2:13 PM ET) -- Citing lack of specific jurisdiction, a federal judge has dismissed Amerigon Inc.'s suit accusing rival WET Automotive Systems Ltd. of infringing a patent related to temperature-controlled seats in cars.

Judge R. Gary Klausner of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California ruled on multiple summary judgment motions April 5, finding that although vehicles made by General Motors Co. containing WET seats are sold in California, that alone was not sufficient to prove jurisdiction because the defendant had no direct contact with consumers there....
