Law360, New York (April 12, 2010, 2:04 PM ET) -- Samsung Electronics America Inc. has become the second defendant in as many months to settle in an infringement suit brought by AtratechJapan Corp. over a patent for flat-screen television backlighting technology.
AtratechJapan will drop its initial claims and Samsung will drop its counterclaims, the two companies said in a joint motion filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District, asking that the case be dismissed with prejudice.
