Judge Refuses To Toss Music Label Suit

Law360, New York (January 19, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Satellite-radio provider XM, which was sued last year by 10 international music labels for alleged “massive wholesale infringement” has lost its bid to have the case dismissed.

A federal judge in the U.S. District Court of New York denied XM’s motion on Friday and gave the recording industry lawsuit the nod to proceed.

Some of the world’s largest record companies sought legal action last May to halt XM’s alleged infringement of their copyrighted sound recordings.
