Target Strikes Deal in Actus E-Payment Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 06, 2010, 2:57 PM ET) -- Target Corp. has become the first defendant to resolve the most recent patent infringement suit brought by patent-holding company Actus LLC over electronic payment-processing technology.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday granted Actus' motion to dismiss claims against the retail giant without prejudice.

Each party will bear its own attorneys' fees and costs, according to the order.
