Howrey IP Partners To Form Spin-Off Firm

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 4:12 PM ET) -- Twelve Howrey LLP intellectual property partners from Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid and Paris are leaving to start their own boutique firm, citing client conflict issues.

The firm, which will be called Hoyng Monégier LLP, will open its doors Jan. 1, name partners Willem Hoyng and Denis Monégier du Sorbier said Sunday.

Hoyng, who was a partner at Amsterdam-based De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek before he joined Howrey, blamed U.S. conflict rules for his departure.
