Sentinel Tries To Duck Coverage For Microsoft IP Suit

Law360, New York (March 01, 2011, 3:04 PM ET) -- Sentinel Insurance Co. Ltd. filed suit Monday in Illinois federal court to avoid defending a computer retailer and IT specialist against Microsoft Corp.’s allegations the company distributes counterfeit computer software.

The complaint, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, claims Sentinel has no duty to defend or indemnify Chicago Computer Club Corp. or its president Xioxong Wang in Microsoft’s suit accusing the company of trademark and copyright infringement.
