Dell, Others Sued Over Device Connection Patent

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 1:23 PM ET) -- Internet Machines MC LLC sued Dell Inc., Samsung Electronics America Inc. and several other electronics companies in a Texas federal court on Friday, alleging infringement of a patent for technology used to connect devices to a motherboard.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, seeks damages over the companies' use of PCI Express switches that can multicast, or send data packages to several places at the same time in order to use less bandwith.
