Panasonic, Samsung, Others Hit With Blu-Ray IP Suit

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 1:47 PM ET) -- A patent holder sued roughly 30 electronics companies — including Panasonic Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and JVC Americas Corp. — in California federal court on April 25, alleging they infringe a patent related to optical disk technology.

Orinda Intellectual Properties USA Holding Group Inc. claims the defendants infringe U.S. Patent Number 5,438,560 with sales of computers, audio equipment and video players that include Blu-ray disc drives.
