Google, Facebook Lose Bid To Toss Mobile Web IP Suit

Law360, New York (May 27, 2011, 6:06 PM ET) -- Google Inc. and Facebook Inc. lost their bid to dismiss a patent infringement suit brought by Wireless Ink Corp. over mobile website technology when an Illinois federal judge refused to rule Thursday on whether the patent-in-suit was invalid.

U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel also granted Wireless Ink's motion to toss Facebook and Google's counterclaims seeking a declaration that the patents were invalid, but he refused to grant the company's request to strike the defendants' invalidity argument as an affirmative defense.
