Microsoft, Google Sued Over Search Engine Patent

Law360, New York (July 05, 2011, 2:04 PM ET) -- A patent-holding company on Monday accused Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp. in Texas federal court of infringing a patent for search engine technology.

Paid Search Engine Tools LLC, which had a similar patent invalidated last year in a different suit against Google and Microsoft, claims that Google's AdWords and Microsoft's Bing search engine infringe a single patent for technology that provides search keyword bidders with information to optimize their use of paid search engines.
