Katz Sues Companies Over Call Systems Patents

Law360, New York (June 11, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A slew of companies—including Exxon Mobil Corp., Continental Airlines Inc. and United Parcel Service Inc.—were hit on Thursday with patent infringement suits filed by Ronald A. Katz, whose extensive telecommunications patent portfolio has already earned the inventor over $1 billion.

Katz and his Illinois-based patent holding company, Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing LP, filed one suit in the Eastern District of Michigan and another in the Eastern District of Texas. Katz is currently also litigating against companies in Nevada and North Carolina.
