ITC Won't Sanction Microsoft Over Google Source Code

Law360, New York (August 16, 2011, 2:07 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Monday refused Google Inc.'s request for sanctions against Microsoft Corp. for allegedly providing Google source code to an expert in an ITC patent probe of Android-based smartphones imported by Motorola Mobility Inc.

Administrative Law Judge Theodore R. Essex denied Google's motion for sanctions, finding that the search giant had failed to show that it had tried to resolve the issue with Microsoft before filing its bid for sanctions.
