Law360, New York (January 03, 2012, 5:43 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge last week dealt a fatal blow to Starbucks Corp.'s long-running suit accusing a mom-and-pop New Hampshire coffee company of trademark dilution for marketing a blend called “Mister Charbucks.”
U.S. District Judge Laura Taylor Swain on Dec. 23 ruled in favor of defendant Wolfe's Borough Coffee Inc., which is run under the name Black Bear Micro Roastery in Tuftonboro, N.H., ending a case that began in 2001 when Starbucks had claimed that the name “Charbucks” blurred its marks.
