Law360, New York (February 18, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Medical device maker Conor Medsystems Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc. in a U.K. court, seeking the revocation of a patent for stents coated with paclitaxel and a polymeric carrier.
According to the lawsuit, Angiotech’s patent lacks novelty, as the technology was available in publications and was part of general common knowledge at the time when the patent was approved.
The move comes only two weeks after Angiotech and Boston Scientific Corp. sued Conor in the Netherlands for alleged patent infringement.
