US Signal Faces $19M Copyright Suit Over Shared Newsletters

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 7:10 PM ET) -- Warren Communications News Inc. hit US Signal Co. LLC with a $19.5 million copyright infringement suit Friday in Washington federal court, accusing the cable systems company of illegally distributing copies of a daily communications industry newsletter.

Warren claims US Signal made multiple unauthorized copies of Warren's Communications Daily newsletter and distributed them to other individuals after purchasing only a single subscription. The violations began in October 2010, the complaint says, and involved more than 130 separate issues.
