Microsoft Enters E-Reader Fray With $300M B&N Nook Stake

Law360, New York (April 30, 2012, 6:20 PM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. agreed Monday to pay $300 million for a nearly 18 percent stake in Barnes & Noble Inc.'s new Nook e-reader unit, giving the software giant a foothold in the market and ending a patent infringement battle that led the bookseller to seek an antitrust investigation into Microsoft.
