Groupon Prevails In Groupion Trademark Dispute

Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 8:17 PM ET) -- A California judge on Tuesday ruled in favor of Groupon Inc. in a trademark infringement suit brought by customer service software company Groupion LLC, saying that their products, marketing and appearances are too different to cause any reasonable consumer to confuse the two.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White granted summary judgment to the popular couponing site, saying Groupion had failed to provide adequate evidence to support its claims that Groupon infringed its trademark.
