Law360, New York (June 27, 2012, 11:51 AM ET) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday blocked sales of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s Galaxy 10.1 tablet on grounds that it likely infringes an Apple Inc. design patent covering the look of the iPad, prompting Samsung to immediately appeal.
U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh ruled that the Galaxy Tab was "virtually indistinguishable" from Apple’s iPad and iPad 2, so Apple was entitled to a preliminary injunction ahead of a trial slated to begin July 30.
