Law360, New York (September 19, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- The holder of a patent for a common DVD feature has sued a maker of hand-held DVD players and plans to sue a bevy of other DVD manufacturers over the same technology.
Technology Licensing Company, which owns and asserts a single DVD patent, sued entertainment company Cyberhome Entertainment Inc. this month in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco.
The company claims that Cyberhome’s many personal DVD-playing devices infringe its patent for a key feature now common in most DVD players....
