Fed. Circ. Reverses Brilliant's Win In Circuit Patent Row

Law360, Los Angeles (February 20, 2013, 10:59 PM ET) -- The Federal Circuit on Wednesday reversed a lower court’s ruling against measurement instruments company GuideTech LLC and found there remain factual issues about whether rival Brilliant Instruments Inc. infringed three of its patents relating to the measurement of timing errors in high-speed microprocessors.

The panel reversed an August 2011 ruling by U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken that had granted summary judgment to Brilliant, saying there were genuine factual issues to be resolved about whether two of Brilliant's measurement products infringe the GuideTech patents.
