Law360, New York (November 29, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- The World Trade Organization has given the world’s poorest countries seven more years to provide protection for intellectual property under the WTO’s statutes, extending the deadline from January 2006 to January 2013.
The decision, made by the Council for Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) also includes commitments by member governments to assist with technical aspects of compliance with WTO standards.
