Procter & Gamble Settles Patent Claims With Coca-Cola

Law360, New York (April 05, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Putting an end to two patent infringement lawsuits, consumer products giant Procter & Gamble Co. and Coca-Cola Co. reached an agreement Tuesday over disputes concerning vitamin and nutrient supplements to orange juice and other fruit beverages.

Although the terms of the settlement were not disclosed, Coca-Cola will be permitted to continue selling its calcium-fortified juices and has taken a license for P&G’s patented preservative system for some of its noncarbonated Coca-Cola products.
