CNN, Cartoon Network Sue Cablevision Over DVR

Law360, New York (May 31, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Two of Time Warner Inc.’s networks have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Cablevision Systems Corp., just two days after Hollywood studios made the same move to halt the cable provider’s newest recording technology.

The lawsuit, filed by Cable News Network LP and The Cartoon Network LP, targets the impending launch of Cablevision’s improved digital video recorder (DVR) service that will free consumers from set-top boxes and store recorded programming at the company’s headquarters.
