Jury Gets Behind White Stripes In Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (June 20, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- The White Stripes won over the crowd in a copyright infringement case that, if lost, could have opened the door to a wave of similar suits in the music industry.

An eight-person jury took only 20 minutes to rule in favor of the rock band after a week-long trial in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan over the rights to The White Stripes’ first two albums.
