Law360, New York (November 12, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has finalized fee increases it proposed earlier this year for international patent applications filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, hiking the charges for prior art searches.
The new rules would actually lower the transmittal fee for international patent applications from $300 to $240, but would raise the search fee and supplemental search fee for international patent applications to $2,080, up from $1,800.
