An antibody molecule has two heavy chains and two light chains, with each chain having a constant region and a variable region. Each of the variable regions have complementary determining regions (CDRs), which vary greatly in amino acid sequence from one antibody to another, and are primarily responsible for the binding affinity of the antibody.
