Fujitsu Settles CSIRO Wi-Fi Patent Claims

Law360, New York (April 08, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Fujitsu Computer Systems Corp. has settled Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation's infringement allegations, leaving eight other defendants, including Nintendo of America Inc. and Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., to parry patent claims relating to Wi-Fi networks.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas dismissed with prejudice the claims and counterclaims between CSIRO and Fujitsu, approving the first settlement to emerge since the Australian research institution filed suit against the various companies and their wireless networking products in 2006....
