Apotex Enjoined From Launching Generic Pulmicort

Law360, New York (May 20, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP has been granted a preliminary injunction in its suit to prevent Apotex Inc. from launching a generic version of children's asthma treatment Pulmicort Respules, a month after a judge issued a temporary restraining order against Apotex.

Judge Renee Marie Bumb of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Wednesday ruled orally on the matter, according to the company and Denise Loring of Ropes & Gray LLP, which represents AstraZeneca.

Loring said AstraZeneca would proceed with discovery in the case....
