Law360, New York (January 17, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A medical technology company faces a class action for selling a pain-relief device which allegedly caused permanent damage to injured patients.
Fresh from a legal victory over claims it stole the invention from a Florida doctor, Michigan-based Stryker Corp. is now defending allegations its PainPump product is defective and unsafe.
The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court of Utah, claims Stryker’s device, used to administer anesthetic solutions to post-operative patients, created “an imminent and substantial danger or risk of injury undetectable” to plaintiffs....
