Cadbury Secures Purple-Label Trademark In Nestle's UK Suit

Law360, New York (October 01, 2012, 8:52 PM ET) -- A U.K. court on Monday reportedly handed Kraft Foods Inc.'s chocolate-making subsidiary Cadbury PLC a victory over rival Nestle in a trademark battle over the confectioner's iconic purple labels.

The Honorable Judge Colin Ian Birss QC of the High Court of Justice dismissed the bulk of an appeal by Nestle that it had filed after Cadbury successfully applied to register the color purple as a trademark for chocolate, The Press Association reported.
