Law360, New York (November 28, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- The European Commission is planning to launch an in-depth investigation into Universal Music Group's planned acquisition of the BMG Music publishing business, according to a published report.
European Commission officials told Universal's lawyers at a Tuesday meeting in Brussels that they are worried the deal could create a monopoly in the music business, Dow Jones reported, citing an unnamed source.
