Nucor Adds Distributor For $605M As Arcelor Slims Down

Law360, New York (May 18, 2012, 3:09 PM ET) -- U.S. steelmaker Nucor Corp. is buying ArcelorMittal's North American distribution business for $605 million, the company said Friday, becoming the latest beneficiary as the world's biggest steel company slims down in an attempt to regain its top credit rating.

Nucor, the country's second-biggest steel producer, will add Skyline Steel LLC's sales network in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, which includes 21 offices and dozens of stocking locations.

Skyline already markets structural shaped-steel beams from Nucor-Yamato Steel, Nucor's 25-year-old joint venture with Japan's Yamato Kogyo Co. Ltd....
