Law360, New York (October 05, 2009, 1:19 PM ET) -- Frontier Refining Inc. is facing a fine of nearly $7 million for allegedly dumping harmful waste into a pond that was not properly built to prevent and detect leaks.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday that it had initiated an enforcement and compliance action against the Cheyenne, Wyo.-based petroleum facility for illegally storing hazardous waste in the pond and was seeking the fine for the operation of the unauthorized waste unit.
