Law360, New York (December 09, 2009, 7:04 PM ET) -- Federal officials at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have questioned legislation that would allow the re-importation of lower-cost prescription drugs into the U.S., even though President Barack Obama supported it before he took office.
The bipartisan legislation, called the Pharmaceutical Market Access and Drug Safety Act, has been long in the making in an effort to lower drug costs. It was introduced late Tuesday by Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., as an amendment to President Obama's health care overhaul.
