Law360, New York (February 01, 2010, 2:44 PM ET) -- After a rash of high-profile food recalls, President Barack Obama is putting his money where his mouth is, allotting $2.51 billion in his 2011 budget for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — including $1.4 billion to implement recommendations from the President's Food Safety Working Group.
The proposed FDA funding, announced Monday, represents an increase of 6.2 percent over the amount allocated to the agency in fiscal year 2010.
