Ex-SEC Official Hops Aboard Trading Firm Lobby

Law360, New York (June 17, 2010, 4:56 PM ET) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's former chief economist is set to become the spokesman for a lobbying group representing high-frequency trading firms, marking the latest high-level official to jump ship to the private sector.

James Overdahl, who left his position at the SEC in March, will be responsible for articulating the FIA Principal Traders Group's views on public policy issues and improving public understanding of the role played by principal trading firms in the financial and commodity markets, the group announced Wednesday.
