US Bearings Makers File Byrd Amendment Challenge

Law360, New York (August 20, 2010, 3:34 PM ET) -- Five U.S. bearings manufacturers have sued the U.S. International Trade Commission and Customs and Border Protection to get a cut of collected duties they claim are rightly theirs under the so-called Byrd Amendment.

American NTN Bearing Manufacturing Corp., NTN-BCA Corp., NTN-Bower Corp. and NTK Precision Axle Corp. filed suit Thursday in the U.S. Court of International Trade to challenge the definition of the term “affected domestic producer” in the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act of 2000, commonly known as the Byrd Amendment.
