Law360, New York (January 05, 2011, 3:19 PM ET) -- The Sierra Club has filed a more than $14 million lawsuit against Maple Coal Co. over alleged water pollution at two West Virginia mines, saying it has to step in since the state's environmental authority is dragging its feet.
The environmental group filed a complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, asserting claims under the Clean Water Act and the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act.
