Law360, New York (November 21, 2011, 1:06 PM ET) -- A Minnesota arbitrator has awarded $525 million to hard drive maker Seagate Technology LLC in its trade secrets suit against rival Western Digital Corp. and one of its workers formerly employed by Seagate, Western Digital said Monday.
Western Digital said in a statement announcing the decision that it believed it did nothing wrong and intended to challenge the award. The Irvine, Calif.-based company also said dispute would have no impact on its ability to consummate a $4 billion proposed acquisition of Hitachi Ltd.'s storage unit....
