Law360, Washington (February 03, 2012, 4:32 PM ET) -- The federal government argued against a grassroots environmental group's efforts to stop work on a $3 billion, 142-mile Indiana highway extension in a federal court Thursday, saying millions of dollars could be lost if construction is delayed.
In response to a bid to block the Interstate 69 project, federal attorneys asserted that the Indiana Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration had fulfilled their environmental study obligations while planning the corridor between Indianapolis and Evansville, Ind.
