Dex-Cool Focus Moves From Federal To State Court

Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Now that a judge has denied certification of a national class action against General Motors Corp. over its coolant Dex-Cool, the focus of the product liability case is moving from the federal to the state level.

Later this month, for example, a California state court will hear a motion for class certification in a case alleging that the intake manifold gaskets in numerous GM vehicles are prematurely failing as a result of Dex-Cool, an orange-colored coolant that supposedly lasts longer than traditional green-colored antifreeze.
