Ill. Hospital Tried To Swipe Patients' Settlement Cash, Suit Says

Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 1:47 PM ET) -- Chicago-area hospital network NorthShore University HealthSystem was hit Monday with a proposed consumer class action by Illinois residents who allege the company refused to bill their insurance following a motor vehicle accident and instead tried to snag a cut of their personal injury settlements.

Blagota Premovic and Tomica Premovic say they were injured in a car wreck and sought treatment at NorthShore’s Skokie Hospital, expecting to have costs covered by their policies with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.
