Brokerage Says Rice Futures Manipulation Suit Still Flawed

Law360, New York (May 18, 2012, 5:15 PM ET) -- Daniels Trading Group LLC on Thursday asked an Illinois federal judge to permanently toss a class action alleging the futures brokerage and its executives manipulated rice futures contracts, saying the plaintiffs hadn't fixed problems that got the suit dismissed in February.

Daniels blasted lead plaintiff Jeffrey Laydon's newly amended complaint, saying he still relied on allegations from a U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission administrative proceeding against the group, which U.S. District Judge John W. Darrah specifically cited as insufficient evidence when he dismissed the case....
