Law360, New York (May 21, 2012, 7:44 PM ET) -- Manufacturer Z Technologies Corp. hit specialty chemical maker Lubrizol Corp. with an antitrust suit in Michigan federal court on Friday alleging Lubrizol's acquisition of a rival company's metalworking product line monopolized the anti-corrosives market and drove up prices.
The suit accuses Ohio-based Lubrizol of unlawful acquisition and monopolization by gobbling up the assets of competitor Lockhart Co. in a $15.7 million deal in 2007 that removed the only alternate source to Z Tech for oxidates used for rust prevention.
