Obama Taps Mayer Brown Partner For Ill. District Court

Law360, Los Angeles (May 22, 2012, 5:03 PM ET) -- President Barack Obama on Monday nominated Chicago-based Mayer Brown LLP partner Thomas Durkin to fill a vacant seat on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Durkin handles an array of matters including complex commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense and has tried more than 55 federal and state jury trials to verdict, according to the firm. Obama said Durkin would serve as a distinguished public servant.
