Law360, New York (May 30, 2012, 3:50 PM ET) -- Fiat Industrial SpA on Wednesday unveiled plans to merge with Burr Ridge, Ill.-based agriculture and construction equipment company CNH Global NV in a deal that would give CNH's largest shareholder full ownership of its global operations.
The merger would open the companies to greater success in the U.S. markets by consolidating them into one listing, better insulating the combined company's market worth, Fiat Chairman Sergio Marchionne wrote in a Wednesday letter to CNH's board.
