Duke Must Turn Over Docs On $1B Plant Cost Overruns

Law360, New York (June 07, 2012, 3:57 PM ET) -- Indiana's utility regulator on Wednesday ordered Duke Energy Corp. to release dozens of confidential documents related to $1.3 billion in construction cost overruns at its troubled coal-gasification plant in southwestern Indiana.

Duke had tried to keep private about 300 documents, which detail spats between the company and the plant's builders, General Electric Co. and Bechtel Corp., over who was responsible for delays that eventually pushed the project's price tag to $3.3 billion, up from just $2 billion in 2006.
