GE To Get $11M From US In CERCLA Settlement

Law360, New York (July 03, 2012, 12:41 PM ET) -- An Ohio federal judge approved a deal Monday in which the U.S. government will pay General Electric Co. $11 million and 67 percent of future response costs to settle a suit over hazardous waste cleanup at a former U.S. Air Force site.

GE had asked for $15 million, which the company said it spent on investigations, feasibility studies and cleaning up damage from chlorinated solvents used by the Air Force to produce and overhaul its engines at the former facility.
