Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 7:39 PM ET) -- A divided Michigan appeals court panel ruled Monday that officials must put on the November 2012 general election ballot a proposal to add language to the state's constitution protecting collective bargaining rights, marking a win for the union-backed initiative.
The appeals court voted 2-1 in favor of plaintiff and ballot question committee Protect Our Jobs' bid for a writ of mandamus directing the Board of State Canvassers and director of elections to add the constitutional amendment proposal to November's ballot.
